L'Avion

L' Avion (trade name of Elysair ) was a French airline based in Paris and based on the Paris-Orly Airport.

History

In 2002, the Frenchman Francis Yvelin got the idea for an airline foundation for long-haul flights with pure business class cabin. Until the implementation of the plan, however, it took until July 2006, when, could be leased with the support of a Lufthansa Boeing 757-200, which was previously at Condor in operation. Shortly after, another plane came of this type from the holdings of Shanghai Airlines to. The planes were equipped with only 90 instead of the usual more than 200 passenger seats.

In spring 2008, L' Avion completed a codeshare agreement with British Airways. On 2 July 2008, British Airways announced the acquisition of L' Avion. The company was finally incorporated in April 2009 in the British Airways subsidiary OpenSkies which pursues the same business concept and also served the same route. They also took over the fleet of L' Avion.

The only route of L' Avion joined the Paris-Orly Airport with Newark west of New York City.
