L. A. Style

LA Style was a two-headed Dutch techno project. It had in 1992 a hit with the song James Brown is Dead.

History

Founded and produced was LA Style 1991 by Wessel van Diepen radio host (pseudonym Denzil Slemming ) and music producer and musician Michiel van der Kuy (pseudonym Maxx Mondino ). Known worldwide, the project in 1991/92 was the single James Brown is Dead, which was the first rave song that could be placed in the U.S. Billboard Hot 100. The second single I'm Raving with originating from Nigeria guest vocalist Nicolette reached only in the Netherlands singles chart, published the 1993 album LA Style - The Album has seen no chart success. It was followed by three more singles that are not placed in the charts and the project was canceled in 1995.
