Showdown in LA ( Original title: LA Takedown ) is an American television film directed by Michael Mann from the year 1989.

Action

The Gangster Patrick McLaren is an intelligent man who for the last time a big bank robbery plans to retire after that. The cop Vincent Hanna is close on his heels and obsessed with the case. Therefore His girlfriend feels neglected. The low- pitched of his buddies McLaren, who also has relationship issues, working with an insurance agent, which in turn is a spy of the police. When the bank robbery fails, only to escape Patrick. Shortly before the departure to secure New Zealand, he is shot.

Based on the same scenario staged director Michael Mann later the star-studded and much more successful movie Heat ( 1995). Xander Berkeley, who plays Showdown in LA Waingro has, in Heat the role of Ralph.

Criticism

" Experienced action without excessive voltage content. At times, tried the script with something to juggle too many people, making the main characters remain a little too pale and the plot is at times a little confused. "
