La Bottine Souriante

La Bottine Souriante (LBS ) is a folk band from Quebec, whose musical source is the traditional music of their region. In addition to traditional pieces also own arrangement are played. LBS uses as instruments mainly the accordion, the fiddle, the guitar, the piano and the double bass.

The band was founded in 1976 and first played in the French- Canadian style with guitar, accordion and fiddle. Over time, the enlarged group, to be able to play other instruments and styles. 1990 an additional brass section with four instruments has been added that allows the music sound jazzy. The group name means "the smiling boot ", which is reminiscent of a work boot with abgetragegenen soles.
