La Ferté-Vidame
La Ferté- Vidame is a commune of 720 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2011 ) in the department of Eure- et- Loir in the Centre region. It belongs to the district Dreux and the District of La Ferté- Vidame. The community lies on the edge of the Perche Regional Natural Park.
Since 1934 located in the immediate vicinity of the location of the test track Citroën.
Etymology
Its name stems from the fact that he was an estate owned by the Vidame de Chartres in the Middle Ages. The best known of these Vidames was the Duke of Saint -Simon.
The original name of the place was La Ferte- Arnaud and La Ferté- Ernaud.
