La Gacilly
La Gacilly ( Gazilieg Breton ) is a commune with 2198 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2011 ) in the department of Morbihan in the Brittany region.
Geography
La Gacilly situated on the river Aff, the further in Glénac opens about ten kilometers in the Oust, of the Canal de Nantes à Brest forms here. With sports and houseboats, it is possible to drive up to the Aff to La Gacilly. The municipality has established here a small dock for boats.
History
The city experienced the boom of the cosmetics company Yves Rocher from a small family business to an international group of companies.
Photography Festival
Since 2003, a photography festival with pictures of internationally renowned photographers will be held in La Gacilly annually. German photographer Florian Schulz or as Olaf Otto Becker stood in 2013, among other at the center.
