La Pedriza

The Pedriza is the largest granite formation in Europe and is located in Manzanares el Real, about 42 km from Madrid (Spain). The approximately 3,200 ha, occupying the Pedriza, are in the Regional Park of the Cuenca Alta del Río Manzanares, the largest protected natural area of the municipality of Madrid and are crossed by numerous small rivers and the river Manzanares.

Hiking and rock climbing are the sports that are most practiced in the Pedriza. This is especially evident in the great influx of people on many weekends.

Parts of the Pedriza
