La Prétière
La Prétière is a commune in the French department Doubs in the Franche -Comté.
Geography
La Prétière is located on 297 m, 2 km east of L' Isle- sur -le- Doubs and approximately 16 km west-southwest of the town of Montbéliard (air line). The village is on the eastern edge of the valley increased slightly in the Doubs, who is here a great loop to the south, on the northern edge of the outermost ridges of the Jura.
The area of 2.71 km ² municipal area comprises a portion of Doubstals. The western boundary runs along the Doubs, which flows here in a about one kilometer wide flat Talniederung north and is accompanied by the waterways of the Rhine- Rhone Canal. From the river, the municipality's area extends eastward across the alluvial plain to the hill of Châtelot, which extends from the north in the Doubsbogen (330 m). With a narrow edge of the municipality sufficient ground north to the adjacent undulating hills. In the Bois de Cugnot is 431 m reaches the highest point of La Prétière.
Neighboring communities of La Prétière are Médière and Beutal in the north, Longevelle -sur -Doubs in the east, and Blussangeaux Blussans in the south and L' Isle- sur -le- Doubs in the West.
History
In the Middle Ages La Prétière belonged to the rule of L' Isle- sur -le- Doubs. Together with the Franche -Comté reached the village with the Peace of Nijmegen in 1678 to France. 1944 La Prétière was the scene of fighting between the Resistance and the German troops. Today La Prétière is part of the municipal association Communauté de communes des Isles du Doubs.
Population
With 177 inhabitants (as of 1 January 2011) La Prétière one of the small communities of the department of Doubs. Throughout the 20th century, the population fluctuated always in the range between 100 and 160 people.
Economy and infrastructure
La Prétière was until well into the 20th century a predominantly by agriculture (crops, orchards and livestock ) and forestry embossed village. In addition, there are today some of the local small business enterprises. La Prétière is the site of a hydroelectric plant. Meanwhile, the village has also changed into a residential community. Many workers are therefore commuters who do their work in the larger towns in the area and agglomeration in Montbéliard.
The village has good transport links. It is located near the main road N463 that runs from Montbéliard to L' Isle- sur -le- Doubs. The nearest links to the A36 motorway is located at a distance of about 11 km. Another road connection with Blussangeaux.
