La Sarre

La Sarre is a town in the Canadian province of Québec. It is located in the administrative region of Abitibi - Témiscamingue, where it is the most populous city.

History

The first white settlers arrived in the late 19th century. From 1912 began the proper settlement and 1917 La Sarre was established as an administrative unit. The city was named after the La Sarre Regiment, which had successfully participated in the Battle of Carillon.
