La Semaine de Suzette

La Semaine de Suzette was a French girl magazine which appeared from 1905 to 1960.

History

The first issue of the magazine girls appeared on February 2, 1905. From the beginning, the target group was conservative and Christian -behaved girl. The magazine included short stories, comic books and articles on, for example, dolls clothes. During the Second World War on June 6, 1940 to May 30, 1946, then was no issue before the magazine was eventually discontinued in 1960.

The first stories of the comic figure Bécassine were published in the magazine. In addition, works by illustrators such as Édith Follet René Follet, Maggie Salcedo, Chéri Herouard, Georges Pichard and Henri de Sta were seen. Short stories, such as Germaine Verdat and Marie -Anne Couderc, were later re-published in the Bibliothèque de Suzette.
