Lac de Melu

The Lac de Melo ( Corsican Lavu di Melu ) is a lake in Corsica, in the Haute- Corse, located in the high valley Restonica about 15 km from Corte.

Geography

Situated at an altitude of 1710 meters, the lake has an area of 6.5 ha and a depth of 20 m. From the Bergerie de Grotelle he can be reached on foot in about an hour. From Lac de Melo you can walk another hour to Lac de Capitello.

The lake is frozen over about six months a year and is the source of the river Restonica flowing at Corte in the Tavignano.
