Lacrimal artery

The lacrimal artery (Latin for tears artery ) is an artery of the head. It arises from the ophthalmic artery to the side of the optic nerve and pulls in the temporal side of the eye socket area to the front. It supplies the lacrimal gland, the eye muscles of the anterior ciliary arteries and the eye itself as well as the lateral palpebral artery, the lateral portions of the eyelids.
