Lacus Luxuriae

Lacus Luxuriae - Latin for sea of abundance - is a solidified lava lake on the moon, of the larger Maria similar to that of the emergence ago. The term has been defined by the International Astronomical Union in 1976.

The small irregular sea surface has an average diameter of 50 km and is located north of the center of the earth facing away from the moon back in the selenographic coordinates 19 degrees north and 176 degrees east.
