Lafcadio Hearn Memorial Museum

The Koizumi Yakumo Kinenkan (Japanese小泉 八 云 记念 馆, dt " Koizumi Yakumo - Memorial ") is a literary museum in honor of Lafcadio Hearn ( Koizumi Yakumo Japanese ), which on 29 November 1933, Matsue, Shiominawate in the prefecture Shimane was opened.

The collection was founded by two former students Lafcadio Hearn, Ochiai Teizaburō and Kishi Seiichi founded. They gave the memorial in 1927 a small collection of 22 manuscripts Hearns, who was soon expanded to include a donation of 350 books by the "Company commemorating Koizumi Yakumo ". The memorial itself was first established in a new building on the western side of the building in which Lafcadio Hearn newlyweds lived with his wife from May to November 1891.
