Lag Prau Pulté

The lag prau consoles is almost circular lake of a complex hydrological system in the landslide debris near Flims in the Swiss canton of Graubünden. He is with seasonally fluctuating level to 1'122 m height ( discharge).

Phenomenology

The lake falls in autumn completely dry. Every early summer with the onset of snow melt in the mountains flows in the system and pushes more water at this point upwards; However, the already existing water can disappear completely during a cold snap again. By leaking air from the submarine cave system is observed over on the constantly roaring gray - murky, muddy water of a bubbling throughout the summer. The overflowing brook feeds also offered in the fall of each low-tide lag prau Tuleritg in a chamber near the site Caumasee. This feeds now turn to an underground path that Caumasee.

In the region of Flims several groundwater systems exist. One thereof has water leaks in Animal T lag, the lag prau consoles as well as the bypass tunnel of Flims, since its construction in a karst conduit was cut. Through this incision, the water pressure was in the karstic significantly, and in the Animal T lag and lag prau consoles occurs significantly less water than before. Because of the lag prau consoles feeds the groundwater body of Caumasee, even this is now missing water. With the beginning in 2011 commissioned in power plant, the lack of water is to be supplemented.

Name

The name referred to the lake as those in the meadow ( prau ) with names consoles in (former ) neighborhood: The eponymous meadow Pulte was up to the construction of the ring road in a quiet area chamber extending in the typical hilly Toggenburg shaped by landslide forest paths, however, was the construction of the bypass road destroyed. Forest has been cut down and piled the flat, the creek bed running along meadow with about 4 to 5 meters mighty tunnel excavation.

Location / Surroundings

The lake is completely surrounded by forest. It lies in a basin west of the hamlet of Flims Waldhaus. He can be reached since the construction of the ring road over a wide forest road or a path on the former meadow, but that has to make a detour through the new tunnel exit. Another route leads over the ridge above the lake in the direction Runca.

Geologically, it lies in the rubble mass of the Flims landslide. In other sinks this mostly wooded typical hilly Toggenburg area are also the other three lakes Flims: Caumasee, Lag prau Tuleritg and Cresta.

Another lake, which was filled with water each before the lag prau desks, lay under a curve of the main road about with coordinates 739.985/187.558. However, this was also destroyed or heaped up in the construction of the ring road. It would be possible that the water system changed in there especially on the southeast flank of the Lag prau consoles strong currents, which were at least not previously noticed.

Were also destroyed during the construction of the ring road in some ancient brick cheese cellar in which the farmers earlier supercooled their cheese; in the summer it came cold air from the ground, while the holes remain remarkably free of snow in winter - this, too, because of the air coming out from the underground.
