Lagavulin

Lagavulin (Gaelic: Lag a'Mhuilinn ) is a small scattered settlement on the Scottish Hebridean island of Islay. It is located about three kilometers east of Port Ellen ferry terminal and 16 km south-east of the island's capital Bowmore at bay Lagavulin Bay on the southeast coast of the island.

Lagavulin itself consists only of a few houses. In 1861, 77 persons were counted in Lagavulin, who divided among 17 families. Of these, 75 people were born on Islay and two men were of English descent. Since 1816, the now belonging to Diageo whiskey distillery Lagavulin Lagavulin is a resident of, which made the world known the name of the Port Ellen corresponding settlement.
