Lago di Viverone

The Lago di Viverone ( Piedmontese Lagh Ed Vivron ) is an above- Italian lake in the region of Piedmont in the city Viverone, after which it is named.

It is 5.8 km ² and is situated at an altitude of 230 m between the provinces of Biella, Turin and Vercelli, in a landscape of morainic hills. The south and the west side of the lake are largely natural and green, while the northern and eastern side are cultivated including hotels, campsites and beaches.

The fauna is determined primarily by ducks, mallards, coots, grebes and gulls; be caught whitefish, perch, tench, pike and catfish.

The area around the lake was inhabited in the Bronze Age, by the lake were stilt houses.
