Laguna de Leche

The Laguna de La Leche ( Milk Lake ) is a lake in Cuba.

Between Morón and the northern coast of Cuba there are several lakes, with 67.2 square kilometers, the Laguna de La Leche is the largest of them. It is the largest natural freshwater reservoir in Cuba. The water depth is just over 2 m. The water weird white color is caused by lime deposits.

The lake is surrounded by inaccessible swamps and can only be reached by a 4 km long road from Moron from. Along this road runs the Canal Jucaro. A connection from the north-western shore in the Bahia de Buenavista on the Atlantic coast was closed in 1988.

The south bank is with restaurants and nightclubs for tourists and locals alike. In addition, there are opportunities for boating, fishing, water sports and regattas. Traditionally, in September, the ' Carnaval acuático ' of decorated boats will be celebrated.
