BW

The Lake Ainslie is a lake in the Canadian province of Nova Scotia.

It is located on the Cape Breton Island and is the largest natural freshwater lake in the province. In the north, the south-western arm of the Margaree River forms the outlet of the lake. The river empties into the St. Lawrence Gulf. The lake is about 20 km long and an average of 5 km wide. It is located in Inverness County.

The lake was named after George Robert Ainslie, the Vice Governor of the Cape Breton Island from 1816 to 1820, when the island became part of Nova Scotia.

In the surroundings of the lake the bald eagle lives.
