Lake Kompienga

The Kompienga Reservoir is located on the Oualé, a tributary of the Pendjari in southeastern Burkina Faso west of Pama. Depending on water levels, the water surface covers about 160-210 km ². A hydroelectric power plant at the dam built in 1985-1988 near Tagou used to generate electricity. In addition, the reservoir is important for the local fishing industry.
