Lake Milh

The Razzaza - lake (Al- Razzaza, Buhayrat al Milh ) is the southernmost of the larger lakes in central Iraq. It is located southwest of Baghdad at Karbala. The other two lakes are Wadi Tharthar ( Ath Tharthar ), which is the largest, and Al - Habbania Lake, the smallest and located in the middle.

1951 or 1955, a distribution structure, the Ramadi - lock, built on the Euphrates, to divert water into the Habbania depression. For very large flood, the water was passed through channels and the Mujjarah regulator in the greater Abu- Dibbis depression on. This resulted in the endorheic Razzaza Lake.

The memory space of the Razzaza Lake is 26 billion cubic meters, the Al- Habbania Lake and Lake Razzaza can summarize 29.3 billion m³. The structural data in the table refer to the dam of Ramadi lock.
