The Lago Colhué Huapi is the fifth largest lake in Argentina. It is located in the Patagonian province of Chubut.

The lake has an area of 803 km ² and a maximum depth of 5.5 meters, with an average water depth of 2 meters. The shoreline length is 220 kilometers. The catchment area is indicated with 10,900 square kilometers. It is fed by the river Senguer, which has its origins in the Andes, Lake Fontana and first flows into Lago pattern, and then lead into the Colhué Huapi.

The name Colhué Huapi means in the language of the Mapuche " Red Island " and refers to the many small mud islands of the lake.

Colonia Sarmiento (10,000 inhabitants) is located between Lake Colhué Huapi and Lake pattern on a high level.
