Lake Tuggeranong

Lake Tuggeranong is a lake in the Australian capital Canberra. It was created in 1987 by damming the Tuggeranong Creek and was created to retain sediment that would otherwise enter the nearby Murrumbidgee River.

The lake is a popular recreation area for different parts of the city in the district of Tuggeranong. The shore is surrounded on all sides by parks, in or on the lake swimming, fishing, windsurfing and rowing are possible. Around the lake is a bike path. Important buildings in the vicinity are the Tuggeranong Library, the Lake Tuggeranong Tuggeranong College and the Cultural Center.
