Lal Darja (translated: The Red Gate) is an Indian film by Buddhadeb Dasgupta from the year 1996.

Action

Nabin Dutta is 47 years old and a dentist by profession. He has studied a son named Kushal in Darjeeling. His wife is unhappy with the marriage out and wants to separate from Nabin. Nabin feels uncomfortable and thinks he was sick, because, from time to time, increases the dissatisfaction.

He compares his life with that of his driver Dinu. Dinu has two wives, Sukhi and Maloti that can cope quite well with marriage. He can not complain about Dinus daughter.

So Nabin comes into pondering and investigating the cause in his childhood. He's thinking about the past and pushes on as the red gate. His mother used to say that the door is a symbol for tolerance and so Nabin compares with the red gate. Finally, Nabin separated from his family and is now beginning a life of tolerance.
