Lalita D. Gupte

Lalita D. Gupte ( born 1948 ) is an Indian manager. She was until 2006 Managing Director on the Board of ICICI Bank, the largest private bank in India, and is considered a prominent figure in the banking industry in India.

Career

Lalita Gupte studied at the Institut européen d'administration des affaires, one of the world's most prestigious business schools. After her time at the Jamnalal Bajaj Institute of Management Studies in Mumbai, she began her career in 1971 as a trainee at ICICI Bank (then ICICI Ltd. ). They went through various positions and departments and their was a significant role in the successful IPO of the bank on the New York Stock Exchange ( ICICI was the first Indian company which was listed on the NYSE ) awarded. Lalita Gupte 2001 rose as Joint Managing Director to the Board, and was in this position until the end of October 2006. Currently, Gupte Chair Person of the Board ICICI Venture and a board member at Nokia since 2010 and member of the Board of Directors of Alstom.

Lalita Gupte has two children, lives in Mumbai, received the 2002 Women of the Year Award from the International Women's ' Association and holds seminars at leading educational institutions, including at Harvard University. Forbes magazine counted Lalita Gupte of the "100 Most Powerful Women", which Fortune magazine among the " 50 Most Powerful Women in International Business".
