Lambert Jacobsz.

Lambert Jacobsz. (* 1598 in Amsterdam, † June 23, 1636 in Leeuwarden ) was a son of cloth merchant Jacob Theunisz. from Leer in East Frisia. He worked as a painter in Leeuwarden and the father of Abraham Lambertsz. van den Temple.

About Lambert Jacobsz. we are taught only sparse. Just a few pictures of him are known. One of them, representing the departure of the disobedient prophet in a landscape ( and full on with " Lambert Jacobsz f ( ECIT ) 1629 " ) can be seen in the Rijksmuseum Amsterdam. Lambert Jacobsz. was acquainted with Rembrandt. The Lambert Jacobsz. custom built also in 1629, " Paul " should have seen Rembrandt in Leeuwarden, when he visited his Saskia 1632 there; his apostles pictures from the first thirties betray this influence clearly. Jan Lievens also has this or similar works of Lambert Jacobsz. probably knew when he painted his Paul.

In Lower Saxony State Museum, Hannover 1629 created his image " Elisha and Gehazi " depends. It represents the scene from the Old Testament by the prophet Elisha and his servant Gehazi (2 Kings, 5, 25-26) dar. In the story of the prophet Elisha had the Aramaic captain Naaman healed of leprosy. Meanwhile, thank you gifts, he refused, but his servant swindled the gifts.
