The Lippenblütlerartigen ( Lamiales ) are an order of plants belonging to the angiosperms ( Magnoliopsida ).

Description

There are mostly herbaceous plants, some taxa are trees and shrubs. There are also parasitic and carnivorous taxa. Most of the leaves are opposite, they are rarely alternate or in whorls.

The most hermaphroditic flowers can be four or fünfzählig. Usually only two or four stamens are present. Each flower contains mostly two, rarely up to five carpels. Most of the ovary is divided by false septa into four chambers, each containing an ovule.
