Lampeter, Aberayron and New Quay Light Railway

Lampeter, New Quay and Aberayron Light Railway was a British railway company in Cardiganshire in Wales.

According to the Light Railways Act, the Company on 9 October 1906, the concession was awarded for the construction of a railway line by a branch at Lampeter after Aberaeron and New Quay after. In Lampeter was a connection to the railway line Carmarthen - Aberystwyth.

Construction began on 20 October 1908. On April 10, 1911, the freight was on the 19 km stretch between Lampeter and Aberayron added. The passenger was launched on 12 May 1911. Since no agreement was reached with the owners of the Port of Aberaeron, the route could not be extended to the port. The planned route to New Quay was not realized. The operation was carried out by the Great Western Railway. The company was on January 1, 1923 the Railways Act 1921 part of the Great Western Railway.

In 1951, the passenger and freight traffic on October 1, 1973 has been set.
