Lance Acord

Lance Acord ( born September 9, 1964 in Fresno County, California, United States) is an American cinematographer from Marin County, California.

He attended Sir Francis Drake High School and studied photography and film at the San Francisco Art Institute. He started his professional career with the photographer and filmmaker Bruce Weber. Together they made documentaries, commercials and music videos.

Acord led his extensive work continued in subsequent media. He won the MTV Video Music Award for Best Cinematography for his work on Fatboy Slim's Weapon of Choice, co-designed by Christopher Walken and directed by Spike Jonze. He also works regularly with R.E.M. together.

Stéphane Sednaoui, Jonathan Dayton and Valerie Faris, Mark Romanek, Michel Gondry, and some directors with whom Acord worked. He directed numerous television commercial campaigns for advertisers such as Levi's, Volkswagen, and Nike.

Acord made ​​his first feature film as a cinematographer of the film Vincent Gallo's Buffalo '66. Since then, he was cinematographer on Spike Jonze films Being John Malkovich and Adaptation, as well as Peter Cares Lost Heaven.
