Lance Reddick

Lance Reddick ( born December 31, 1962 in Baltimore ) is an American actor and musician.

Biography

Lance Reddick grew up in his native town as a single child, as his much older brother was already out of the house. His mother was a music teacher. The father was a teacher of English and social studies and worked by a later study of law as a trial lawyer. Reddick first attended in Baltimore, founded by a Quaker high school, where his parents were employed. After graduation, he went to the University of Rochester, where he took drama and physics as main subjects, gained his first experience as an actor and developed an affinity for the works of Shakespeare. However, inspired by his mother, he aspired to a career as a musician and after a year at the University at the same belonging, renowned Eastman School of Music, where he studied four years Classical composition major.

His attempts thereafter to take a pop musician foot, but failed. The now married with one daughter had to his family as a waiter, by bringing pizza and paperboy. In addition, he suffered a severe back injury that made him unable to work for a month. However, he also got first minor engagements as an actor and finally decided to use acting as a springboard for a career as a musician. At 29, he was admitted to the members of the Yale University Yale School of Drama. After graduation in 1994 he worked mainly on the stage and played minor roles in film and television productions. Among other things, Reddick was seen in 1998 in the feature films Great Expectations, state of emergency and Godzilla, as well as in 2000 in three episodes of the crime series Falcone. He had his first major role that same year in the movie I Dreamed of Africa with Kim Basinger.

Behind Bars (2000/2001) brought hell Reddick breakthrough as an actor - his role as " Detective John Basil " in twelve episodes of the series Oz. In the hit series The Wire, he got after several auditions the part of "Lieutenant Cedrick Daniels ", which he embodied in all 60 episodes from 2002. From 2008 to 2012, he played a starring role in the series Fringe - limiting cases of the FBI. At the same time he appeared on the series Lost in the fourth and fifth season.

Also in 2008, Reddick released his music album Contemplations & Remembrances.
