In the Samtgemeinde country mountains from the Lower Saxony Nienburg / Weser four municipalities had joined forces to fulfill their administrative business: Estorf, Husum, country mountains and Leese. To November 1, 2011 to merge the municipalities of the country Samtgemeinde mountains and the unified community Stolzenau to Samtgemeinde Mittelweser.

Geography

The area of the velvet municipality located predominantly in the natural area of the Middle Vesdre valley.

Policy

The Samtgemeinderat had 23 seats. Last Samtgemeinde mayor was Walter Busse ( CDU), who had been elected as independent candidates.

Blazon: "In a green sloping right silver wave beams; above a golden windmill, down a golden urn. "

The windmill is symbolic of agriculture, the inclined shaft bars for the Weser and for early settlement in this room the urn.
