Langenaltheim
Langenaltheim is a municipality in the district of Central Franconia White Castle -Gunzenhausen. It is the southernmost municipality of Middle Franconia. Located in the triangle, the community adjacent to Upper Bavaria and Swabia.

Geography
Geographical Location
Langenaltheim is located at about 556 m above mean sea level in the highlands of Altmühlalb, a part of the Franconian Jura Mountains. The village is located about 8 km south of the city Treuchtlingen and about 4 km west of the Altmühltherme in the planning region West Middle Franconia and in the middle of the nature park Altmühltal.

History
Langenaltheim belonged since 1541 to the County of Pappenheim, who was a part of the Frankish knights circle. With the Act of Confederation, in 1806 the city became part of Bavaria. Created in 1818 the municipality.
Incorporations
On April 1, 1971, until then independent municipality Rehlinger was incorporated. On 1 January 1972 yards, other jurisdictions and Neuherberg came as part of the dissolved municipality Hague in Treuchtlingen to Büttelbronn followed on 1 May 1978.

Coat of arms
The Coat of Arms description is: lower wing main with Eisenhutfeh of silver and blue in red with a silver hammer cocked hat with golden stem, accompanied by three, two made -to-one, five-pointed silver stars.

In Langenaltheim are the long Altheimer Willibald Church and St. John's Church (both Protestant).

Economy and infrastructure
The municipal tax revenue in 1999 amounted to the equivalent of € 957,000, of which € 140,000 trade tax revenue ( net).
Economy, agriculture and forestry
In 1998 there were at the work according to official statistics in manufacturing and 197 in trade and transport, no social insurance contributions. In other areas, 123 persons were employed social insurance contributions. Social insurance contributions at residence, there were a total of 814 in the manufacturing sector, there were 12 farms, in construction 3 furthermore, in 1999 there were 45 farms with an agricultural area of 1482 ha, of which 793 ha of arable land.

In 2013 there were the following facilities:
- Kindergarten: 100 kindergarten places with 89 children
- Elementary School: A with 9 teachers and 140 students

Traffic
At Langenaltheim passes the state road ST 2217, which, coming from Solnhofen, about two kilometers north- west of the town in the national road 2 opens.
