Langenhorn (Nordfriesland)

Long Horn (Danish: Long Horn, Frisian: Hoorne ) is a municipality in the district of North Friesland Schleswig -Holstein. It extends as a typical street village with a length of 6.5 km on the border between March and Geest. The community is a resort since 2005.

Geography and transport

Long Horn is located about 20 km southeast of Niebüll in a forest and heathland and has a station on the route Hamburg - Westerland. To the east runs the main road 5 of Niebüll to Husum.

History

Long Horn is first mentioned in documents in 1352. Its centrality is particularly emphasized by the granting of market rights. Since 1681 Long Horn was allowed to hold a cattle, horses or Krammarkt three times a year.

The St. Lawrence Church was built around 1240. 1684 began with the renewal of the interior. Coat of arms
