Langoëlan

Langoëlan ( Breton: Lanwelan ) is a commune with 403 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2011 ) in the department of Morbihan in the Brittany region. It belongs to the Local Government Association Pays du Roi Morvan.

Geography

Langoëlan is in the northwest of the department of Morbihan on the border with the department of Cotes -d'Armor and belongs to the Pays du Roi Morvan.

Neighboring communities are located in the department of Côtes- d'Armor communities Mellionnec and Lescouët -Gouarec in the north, and Silfiac Séglien in the east, the south and Locmalo Ploërdut in the West.

The village itself lies off major thoroughfares. Through the village itself the D3/D23 of Baud leads to Rostrenen. The main national road N164 connection can be reached in around 16 kilometers in Rostrenen.

The major bodies of water are the river and the streams Scorff Le Maçon s Dour, Guernarpin, Moulin du Pont Houarn, Lanhouellic and Kerlann. Partial form these simultaneously, the municipal boundary. Just east of the village Langoëlan is the lake / pond Etang du Dordu. In the municipality there are also several more ponds. In the north- west of the municipal area is the forest area Bois de Coët - Codu.

Demographics

History

The municipality belongs to the historic region of Brittany Bro Gwened (French Vannetais ) and within this region to region Bro Bourlet (French Pays Pourlet ) and shares his story. Langoëlan was from 1793 until its dissolution in 1801 the canton Ploërdut allocated. Since then, the municipality in the canton of Guémené -sur -Scorff.
