Langon (Ille-et-Vilaine)
Langon ( Breton country Egon ) is a commune with 1448 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2011 ) in the department of Ille -et -Vilaine in the Brittany region.
Geography
Langon is located around 20 km north- west of Redon, in a loop of the river Vilaine, about one kilometer away from the river.
History
In Langon are the remains of a stone row of megalithic. This place of worship is called Demoiselles de Langon. The legend speaks of 28 girls who had gone to the dance instead of going to church and turned to stone as a punishment.
