Eutrophic waters

The long lake (Danish: Langsøen ) is located north of Schleswig in Angeln, Schleswig -Holstein ( Germany ). The basin of the lake is part of a Tunneltals that has arisen in the last ice age ( Weichsel glaciation ). It has features of a tongue basin.

The lake is almost completely surrounded by forest. The lake is naturally eutrophic ( nutrient rich ).

In Süderfahrenstedt and Brekling are swimming.

History

From 1191 to 1210 was located on the north bank of the long lake, the Cistercian Monastery Guldholm.
