Lány (Kladno District)#L.C3.A1ny Castle

Lany castle is the summer residence of the President of the Czech Republic. The Baroque palace located about ten kilometers west of Kladno in Lany.

History

The first mention of the plant as a fortress dates from the year 1392. 1589 was Emperor Rudolf II Lany and built the needle seat into a hunting lodge. 1681 received the Wallenstein's the rule, they were followed in 1733 Fürstenberger. During their reign, the castle was rebuilt and received its present appearance. 1921 bought the Czechoslovak state the castle and it became the summer residence of the first President of the Republic Tomáš Garrigue Masaryk, who was also buried here. The also open to the public 110 -hectare Castle Park dates from the 18th century. At its design took, among other things in the years 1921-1930 the famous Slovenian architect Jože Plečnik part. The castle is not open to the public and is secured by the Castle Guard.
