The Lärcheck (also Lärchegg ) is a 2,123 meter high mountain in the Kaiser mountain range in the Northern Limestone Alps.

Location

The Lärcheck forms the mighty north-east pillar of the Wilder Kaiser and projects with 1,200 meter high rock crashes immediately above the Kaiserbachtal on. It belongs to the impressive backdrop of the Ostkaisers and is seen by all sides a slender rocky pyramid. In the south, close to the higher peaks Ackerlspitze and Maukspitze.

Routes

The normal route to the Lärcheck is demanding and should not be underestimated. Only experienced hikers in good physical shape, sure, fear of heights and climbing agility may troubles to rise.

Starting point in Kaiserbachtal is the pine oil distillery (900 m) in the Kaiserbachtal between the Fischbachalm and Griesner Alm ( parking at the toll road from Griesenau ). The signposted trail leads consistently climbing steeply into the Small Griesner gate, a Geröllkar. There unmarked turnoff to the left; the ascent route continues to the Fritz- Pflaum Hut. From here to the summit only sparse, strong saturation (2009 ) Marking and consistently falling rocks. On foot tracks approximately in the middle of an extremely steep, unstable scree field up to 1,850 meters on the rock walls of the summit building. There passes out of the riser from the Kar and runs through craggy, rock bands and steep chutes on. At the most difficult point, a cable is attached to which you have to pull up. Immediately thereafter, a sophisticated, unsecured climbing section (II). In front of a rocky promontory ( look Chiemsee ) the route turns right ( view of St. John ) and then over the north ridge to the summit cross. Are three hours schedule for the entire ascent, the descent takes this route 2.5 hours.

The only base near the Fritz- Pflaum Hut, from which one enters the descending Small Griesner gate and reached the Lärcheck after a total of 2 hours.
