Lark Rise to Candleford is a British television series that describes the life of the rural population towards the end of the 19th century, based on the novels by Flora Thompson, which appeared between 1939 and 1945: Lark Rise, Over to Candleford, Candleford Green and the trilogy Lark Rise to Candleford.

In the UK, the first season from 13 January 2008, broadcast on BBC One in ten parts, in the United States, it ran on the PBS station for the first time in spring 2009. Despite high ratings on British television in the fourth as the final season was announced and the 9 January to 13 February 2011 sent.

In German-speaking countries, the first season of the series was first exclusively via the home Enternainmentmarkt available, the German dubbed version was released in 2009 as a two-part DVD box. Four years later, the second season in the trade was to acquire, again in two parts from 15 July and from 19 August 2013.

Action

The series is based in the small hamlet of Lark Rise and the wealthy neighboring market town of Candleford in Oxfordshire in the late 19th century. The daily lives of farm workers, craftsmen, and the higher layer is presented and the hustle and bustle of the characters in their everyday things, love affairs, needs and their rivalry with each other described.

The story is described through the eyes of 16- year-old girl, Laura Timmins, as she leaves Lark Rise to start a new life in Candleford under the protection of her aunt, the independent, lively Dorcas Lane, who is the head of the local Post Office. They learn the difference between the rural, traditional Lark Rise and Candleford know the future-oriented.

Synchronization

The synchronization of the first season took place in 2009, the second season was 2013 synchronized. The book was inspired by Klaus Schönicke dialogue, dialogue directed by Gerd Graf and dubbing studio was responsible DMT - Digital Media Technology in Hamburg.

Production

The interior shots were done in a warehouse on the Beeches Industrial Estate, Yate, South Gloucestershire. The exterior shots to the villages of Lark Rise and Candleford were on farms in Box and Neston Park, near Corsham in Wiltshire, rotated. According to the BBC, the Hatt Farm was used in box because of their proximity to existing cornfields and because of its buildings and the Park Farm in Neston Park was selected because of its unspoiled nature and its attractive traditional building. The exterior shots at these sites for the first season lasted 25 days spread over a Zeitrtaum of 5 months. All rural shots, including all the comings and goings of the landowner were rotated at Chavenage House in Gloucestershire.

Broadcasting in German-speaking

The initial appearance of the first season in German language took place on the pay-TV broadcaster Passion from the 10th May 2012. In the autumn of the same year, the Austrian free to view TV ServusTV showed the first season on Tuesdays in prime time from 11 September to 31 October 2012.

As of September 8, 2013 this transmitter also the second season in the Sunday morning program began to radiate.
