Lars Lewen

Lars Lewen Gustav ( born October 7, 1975 in Stockholm ) is a Swedish freestyle skiers in the discipline of ski cross and former alpine skier.

Biography

Lewen took from August 1994 participated in FIS Alpine race, which he won in the following years, a total of twelve. In 1998 and 1999 he participated in the European Cup race, taking five times in the points (top 30) binned. His greatest successes in the Alpine area were winning the gold medal in the downhill and a silver medal in the Super -G and 2002, the Swedish championship title in the combination at the Universiade 1999. The last Alpine race he competed in March 2003.

On 30 November 2002 Lewen debuted at the Freestyle World Cup and drove it in Tignes immediately to fifth place. The first podium finish followed on 23 November 2003 with third place in Saas -Fee. At the end of the season 2003/ 04 and winter 2004/ 05 he scored two third places. In both the 2005 World Championships in Ruka as well as the 2007 World Championships in Madonna di Campiglio, he finished fifth.

His most successful season was Lewen in winter 2007 /08. After a slow start he won in March 2008 in three consecutive races: in Grindelwald, Hasliberg and Valmalenco. Thus, he finished in the ski cross discipline standings of the World Cup second place behind the Czech Tomáš Kraus. Lewen was similarly successful in the World Cup Winter 2008 /09 with two wins in Lake Placid and Branäs and third place in the discipline standings. A second place in the 2009/10 season was his best result.
