Larysa Kuzmenko

Larysa Kuzmenko ( born January 23, 1956) is a Canadian composer and pianist.

Kuzmenko studied piano at the Royal Conservatory of Music with Kenneth Harrison, Clifford Poole, Samuel Dolin and Boris Lysenko and 1979-1981 Composition with Dolin, Oskar Morawetz and Walter Buczynski at the University of Toronto. She teaches at the Royal Conservatory since 1996 and since 2004 at the University of Toronto.

Since 1972 Kuzmenko occurs as a pianist, since 1980 as a concert pianist with virtuoso works predominantly romantic and late romantic composers such as Sergei Rachmaninoff. She received inter alia commissions from the Royal Canadian College of Organists, the CBC and the Ontario Arts Council. In 2010 she was a Senior Composer Festival at North York Music Festival. Many of her piano compositions have been premiered and recorded Christina Petrowska.
