Las Terrenas on the map of Dominican Republic

Las Terrenas is a major tourist town in the province of Samaná in the north- east of the Dominican Republic.

The former fishing village has grown to become an international tourist destination with hotels, restaurants, nightclubs and diving schools and similar sports clubs since the 1990s. However, the relatively remote location of the village, which was only accessible via two curvaceous provincial roads either Sanchez or Samaná by car, stalled its development.
