Laser Mégajoule

The laser Mégajoule ( LMJ ) is a research facility for nuclear fusion. The concept of inertial confinement fusion is utilized. The facility is available near Bordeaux, in France and is operated by the French CEA. The laser fires Mégajoule with an energy of about 1.8 MJ on a goal that is greatly compressed and heated. It is the largest test facility outside the United States, which operates on the principle of inertial confinement fusion. The primary goal of the LMJ is the nuclear weapons research.
