Laserdance

Laser Dance (also known as laser or laser Dance Dance) is a native of the Netherlands, the band producer Michiel van der Kuy and Erik van Vliet.

History

Since 1983, they have published under that group name numerous singles and albums that contain rhythmic, danceable electronic music. Since the music of Laser Dance is mainly produced with synthesizers, one calls their music style as Synthdance, or due to the often spacey sounds also as Spacesynth. Most songs are instrumental maintained, so that is spoken also of instrumental disco.

The first single Lazer Dance (or Lazerdance, later written as a Remix also laser or laser Dance Dance ) and Humanoid Invasion or Powerrun were successful in the 80s. Likewise, the first album Future Generation was a relatively big success. By 1995, followed by several albums that were produced in the Netherlands by Dutch Rebel Music. The German sales took over the ZYX label of the late Bernhard Mikulski. Having enjoyed the 1995 album produced The Guardian Of Forever wanted to orient the current techno and trance style, but this was not accepted by the laser dance fans, the producers put a longer break. With recurrence of music from the 1980s, the Laser Dance project with Eric van Vliet started again without Michiel van der Kuy by, after this had been prevented by other projects. 2000 then another and so far last album was put on the market along with the new co-producer Julius Wijnmaalen on ZYX Music. The genre was inspired by trance, the music, however, no longer sounded by the newly miteingebrachten instruments after the original laser dance style.

2004, a single titled Laser Dance Megamix was released under the name Laser Dance Project, which included songs from Laser Dance, Koto and Hypnosis. In 2005 there was subsequently a Laser Dance Megamix Vol.2, which was however not published under ZYX.

Other more well-known representatives of the laser dance music style are Koto, Rofo, Hypnosis (or Hipnosis ) and Syntech.
