Lasse Norman Hansen
Lasse Norman Hansen ( born February 11, 1992 Faaborg ) is a Danish rail and road bicycle racer and Olympic champion.
Sports career
Lasse Norman Hansen was on the track in 2008 Danish title in the scratch and in the individual pursuit of the junior class. The next year he won the title in the team pursuit, points race, the 1000m time trial and scratch. In 2010 he was again successful in the team pursuit. In the UCI Track World Championships 2010 in Copenhagen Hansen eighth in the individual pursuit of the elite class. At the Junior World Championships in Moscow, he was first in the individual pursuit. In the Danish track cycling championships of the elite, he won the 1000m time trial and the Omnium. In the 2011 season he was with Christian Creutzfeldt at UIV Cup in Copenhagen successfully.
On the road, Lasse Norman Hansen won a stage of the 2008 ASVÖ Radjugendtour. The next year he was in the junior class at the individual time trial of the Sjællandsmesterskab successful. In the Youth Tour, he won the prologue and a further stage. In addition, he was Danish Champion in the time trial and road race, he finished first overall in the Tour of Lower Saxony and he won the bronze medal in the individual time trial of the Junior World Championship. In 2010 he won a stage in the Tour de Himmelfart, Danish time trial championship, two stages at the Grand Prix Rüebliland and a stage and the overall classification of the Tour du Pays de Vaud. Since 2011, Hansen riding for the Team Concordia Forsikring - Himmerlands.
In the UCI Track World Championships 2012 in Melbourne Hansen was third in the Omnium. In August of the same year he won at the Olympic Games in London, the gold medal in the same discipline. In the UCI Track World Championships 2013 in Minsk Hansen finished third in the team pursuit, together with Casper Folsach, Rasmus Christian Quaade and Mathias Møller; in Omnium he became vice - world champion.
Honors
In November 2012 Hansen was voted Denmark's cyclist of the year. Beginning in January 2013 was followed by the ceremony as Denmark's Sportsman of the Year in 2012.
