Lassee
Lassee is a market town with 2570 inhabitants (as of 1 January 2013 ) in the district Gaenserndorf in Lower Austria.

Geography
Lassee lies in the wine district in Lower Austria. The area of the municipality covers 55.62 square kilometers. 7.53 percent of the area is forested. To place Lassee also includes a recreation center ( EHZ ), comprising a total of 14 lakes. Lassee has a Samaritan location and its own police inspection.

History
In the core Austrian state of Lower Austria lying, the site announced the eventful history of Austria. Lassee was originally Lauchsee.
Population Development
In the POPREG database 2009 2.567 inhabitants have been determined for the year. According to the results of the 2001 census, there were 2354 inhabitants. In 1991, the market town of 1980 inhabitants, 1981 and 1784 in 1971, 1926 inhabitants.

Policy
Mayor of the municipality is Karl Grammanitsch, Deputy Mayor Sandra Hengl, office manager Anna boar. In the market there are local council after the local elections in 2010 with a total of 21 seats following distribution of seats: ÖVP list 12, 8 SPÖ, FPÖ List 1, no other seats.
Twinning
Lassee has a community partnership with the Briennon located in France ( département Loire) since 1999. Another partner municipality is located in Poland: The municipality Strzyżów in the Subcarpathian Voivodeship, in the Polish Carpathians. In addition, it is member of the European Charter of agricultural communities.
Culture and sights
In Lassee are regular performances are held in the auditorium of the elementary school, whether it is a play by the theater group Lassee or a concert by the church choir. Especially in Kulturherbst occur in many different artists. Among other things, the cabaret artist Alfons Haider has already occurred in Lassee.
