Laßnitz Murau is a municipality with 1049 inhabitants (as of 1 January 2013 ) in the district Murau in Styria. The seat of the district court is also competent in Murau. From 1 January 2015 it has joined forces framework of the Styrian municipality structural reform with the communities Murau Stolzalpe and Triebendorf, the new community will continue to use the name " Murau ".

Geography

Laßnitz Murau is between Malmesbury and St. Lambrecht at an altitude of 800 m to 2000 m in Murau district in the Austrian state of Styria. The municipality is bordered to the south by the municipality Metnitz in Carinthia, further to the west of Sankt Georgen ob Murau, in the north of Malmesbury and pride Alpe, northeast to Triebendorf closes and the east are St bubbles and Sankt Lambrecht neighboring communities.

Three local villages are in the local church united: Laßnitz - Lambrecht ( includes the village Steirisch Laßnitz and the scattered settlements Priewald, valley and grave mountain as well as parts of Probst ), Laßnitz -Murau with Schlatting, Wimml and floodplains and the KG Sankt Egidi ( Sankt Egidi and Probst ).

The Lassnitzbach forms with its two source rivers, the Priewaldbach and the Auenbach, the southern border against the church Metnitz in Carinthia.

History

Part of today's municipal territory belonged to the 16th century to the " court in the Probst and the Laßnitz ", which belonged to the dominion of the Styrian noble family of Liechtenstein. Goods of this family are in the area since 1181 detected: then exchanged Dietmar III. seven Huben at Laßnitzbach together with the associated forest against other possessions in Aichfeld at Jews castle.

The abolition of the manorial system was carried out in 1848., The local church as an autonomous corporation was 1849 /50. After the annexation of Austria in 1938, the community came to Reichsgau Styria, 1945-1955, she was part of the British zone of occupation in Austria.

The community, originally called simply Laßnitz, was renamed in 1951 in Laßnitz Murau.

Coat of arms

Blazon: A black shield with a fully placed in a corner square golden Maßwerkgitter so covered that six ( 2:1:2:1 ) whole upright inscribed cross flowers appear. The award of the municipality coat of arms was made with effect from 1 March 1989.
