László Magyar

László Magyar of Öttömös (* November 13, 1818 in Szombathely, Hungary, † November 9, 1864 in Benguela, Angola ) was a Hungarian explorer and traveler.

Magyar prepared since 1842 in Fiume on the naval service before and entered 1844 as a ship captain in North American services. He traveled to India and stayed at the end of 1844 in Brazil.

1847 Magyar went to the Portuguese colonies on the west coast of Africa, sailed to the Congo in 1848 and ended on December 9, 1848 in the Bay of Benguela. From there he went into the interior and made of Bihe from several expeditions, such as the 1850 and 1852 Muata Jamvo to the Kunene. In 1857, he then entered into Portuguese and services founded on the Bay of Lueira between Benguela and Mossamedes a new branch.

László Magyar died on November 19, 1864 in Benguela.
