Lato

Lato (Greek Λατώ ) was an ancient city in the north east of the Greek island of Crete. It was named after the goddess Leto, which is called in the Doric dialect " Lato ".

Originally, there was at this point a Minoan settlement dating from around 1500 BC Lato was probably founded in the 8th century BC by the Dorians.
