Latourell Falls

The Latourell Falls is a waterfall of Latourell Creek in Multnomah County in the U.S. state of Oregon. The case is in Guy W. Talbot State Park on the Historic Columbia River Highway and is the first case, the visitors to the Columbia River Gorge from the west reach coming. The waterfall is 75 m drop height of the second highest waterfall in the territory of the Columbia River Gorge and falls in free fall over a mossy cliff of columnar basalt. The case was named after Joseph Latourell, a pioneer of the 19th century, called in 1887 as postmaster at Rooster Rock Post Office. In 1929, the land surrounding the waterfall was given to the state, who then founded the State Park.

The Latourell Creek originates on Larch Mountain, flows through the George W. Joseph State Natural Area with the 37 m high Upper Latourell Falls, flows through the northern border Guy W. Talbot State Park, flows along with the coming of the Shepperd 's Dell State Park Young's Creek and ends at Rooster Rock State Park in the Columbia River.
